The Catch
Profile
The Catch go back 28 years! First signed by Phil Carson to Atlantic Records in New York in 1979, the band had two radio hits with 'Ghosts of my Past' and 'Radio Station' before signing in 1980 to EMI Records in London, England.
They worked with legendary producers Colin Thurston (Duran Duran) and Chris Neil (Mike and the Mechanics, Celine Dion) but never quite had the success that was forecast for them. They were unfortunate to have been a big signing to EMI just 3 weeks before Duran Duran signed on the same dotted line! The promotional campaign originally intended for The Catch ended up in the lap of Duran Duran who went on to have a couple of hits..............! That's showbiz!
However The Catch recorded some great songs that never saw the light of day. Until now! The Sprint Music Label is set to release selected tracks that although recorded nearly three decades ago, have been described by those inside the music industry today as trailblazing and a forerunner to bands like The Kaiser Chiefs.
